Powder coating

Finishing and protection of component surfaces

High-quality surface coating made to measure

We offer powder coatings that are precisely tailored to your requirements and operating conditions. Planilux gives your components a resistant and durable surface finish.
Powder-coated surfaces are:

  • Splinter and scratch resistant
  • abrasion resistant
  • Splash-proof
  • Chemical resistant

Environmentally friendly process

Compared to wet painting, powder coating is an environmentally friendly alternative as no solvents are released.

Our process

After wet-chemical pre-treatment of the components or assemblies, powder is applied electrostatically in our coating system. We then heat the objects to around 180 °C so that the powder melts, runs and cross-links to form a durable and decorative surface.

Your requirements determine the coating

Indoor or outdoor:
Depending on the area of application, we adapt the coating to the ambient conditions.

Color requirements and properties
You define the requirements – we select the optimum powder type and coating quality.

Additional services

After powder coating, which we carry out at our Warstein site, we offer additional finishes such as

  • Printing with logos,
  • Identification by labels, serial numbers or codes.

Features of the powder coating

Powder coating of appliances offers numerous advantages, especially compared to conventional painting processes. Here are the most important advantages:

  • Durability and resilience

Outstanding durability: Powder coatings are extremely resistant to scratches, wear and impact. This makes them particularly suitable for devices that are used in demanding environments.

Corrosion resistance: They offer a high level of protection against rust and corrosion, which is particularly beneficial for appliances used outdoors or in damp environments.

  • Uniform coating

Smooth and even surface: Powder coatings are less prone to runs or drips as the powder is applied electrostatically to the component and flows evenly during curing.

Thicker layers: Thicker coats can be applied without the risk of chipping, which further increases resistance.

  • Wide range of colors and textures

Variety of colors and textures: Powder coatings are available in almost any color and finish, including glossy, matte, rough or textured finishes. This enables a high degree of design flexibility when designing appliances.

UV resistance: Many powder coatings are UV-resistant, which prevents colors from fading when exposed to sunlight.

  • Chemical resistance

Powder coatings are resistant to many chemicals, oils and solvents. This makes them particularly suitable for industrial applications or environments in which appliances are regularly cleaned or come into contact with chemicals.

  • Heat resistance

Powder coatings can withstand higher temperatures than many other coatings, making them ideal for appliances that are operated at elevated temperatures.

Overall, powder coating of appliances offers an extremely robust, aesthetic and environmentally friendly solution, which is particularly beneficial for demanding areas of application such as the mechanical engineering and electronics industries.
